A client saw this sculpture (the original is sculpted by Walter Palmer, resides in Florida and was not for sale) while on vacation and wanted a replica made for a gift for her spouse.
I welded a steel frame using rebar for the legs and sheet steel for the wings. A real golf club was used.
Next I applied pink and spray foam to fill the bird out. The foam was hand sculpted to give the bird a nice, 3 dimensional look.
Then I coasted the entire bird in Apoxie Sculpt so it would withstand the elements. I painted a faux verdigris finish over the entire bird and sealed it.
The client was extremely happy and her husband loved the thought that went into her gift.
